Mt Palomar

Yellow Pine Forest

Plant list (below)

The Mt Palomar State Park trip was a beautiful and fun, although not in the conventional sense.  Driving towards the mountain I could see a bit of fog at the top, and the Palomar access road soon brought me into the mist.  The parking lot was completely shrouded in mist.  Charlie reassured us that it was clear on the other side of the mountain.

For a while, the mist eased up, but as we proceeded, it became heavier until it was more like rain than mist.  By the time we got to the bottom of the hill it was raining steadily.  It was thrilling, and the lake was lovely in the mist.

Charlie had no choice but to call it a day, at this point, since we were pretty much soaked.  Still, it was a lovely walk.
