Achillea millefolium californica tolerates full sun, part sun, alkaline soil, sand, clay, seasonal flooding, high traffic (people walking on it), and deer.
From what I can tell, this plant and its variants are widely distributed throughout the continent.
The leaves of this plant were used by native people for dermatology, toothache and stomach upset.
