Plant Information

Asteraceae

In the garden:

Perennial, 2 feet high, yellow flowers, spring to summer. It likes full sun and water only until established.  It is intolerant of frost.  It's wind tolerant, best in sandy soil. A rare plant.

In the wild:

Native to coastal bluffs and dunes below 200 feet in San Diego County and Baja California.  Endangered - most historical sites in San Diego County have been extirpated by construction of "ocean view" lots. [ref]
