Plant Information

Rosaceae 

In the garden:

This is a much branched, deciduous shrub, to 6 feet tall. It is armed with short, stiff, thorn-like twigs. It’s leaves are pale green and in clusters. It flowers between March and May. It is a member of the Rosaceae (the Rose Family). It is valued for it’s attractive form and for the texture of it’s foliage.

In the wild:

 Found on dry slopes and in washes, between 2500 and 6500 feet.
